Cost of Patent Registration in India : A patent application might be documented on Form-1 alongside Provisional/Complete Specification, with the recommended charge as given in First Schedule at a proper Patent office in India as per the jurisdiction. An application documented with provisional specification reveals the nature of the invention and helps to register the priority date. The following document submitted after provisional specification is the complete specification, which not provided within 12 months leads to patent abandonment. Application and documents can be e-filed through the online gateway of the patent office or physically in the patent office.

A patent application will be published naturally after 18 months from date of documenting or date of priority (whichever is prior) containing title, application no, abstract and name of candidate and creator.

Examination
The Process of examination begins with documenting a demand for examination. The request for examination must be made within 4 years from the date of priority or documenting whichever is prior. After which, the Patent Office will issue the First Examination Report (FER). The Applicant must create response to the complaints (assuming any) rose by the Examiner and develop the application for acceptance within a year from the date of issue of the FER.
